You should post your honey cake recipe!
TO PROCURE A MOSTE DELICIOUS AND MOISTE CAKE OF HONEY
- 3 ½ cups of flour (get a BIG bowl)
- 1 tablespoon of baking powder
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
- a wee pinch of kosher salt
- 4 teaspoons of cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon of ground cloves
- okay……terrible secret……my mom had a thing of “pumpkin pie spice” from trader joe’s leftover from last year’s thanksgiving and i used a lot of that for the cake this year…….shame on my family curse on my head etc etc BUT IT WAS REALLY GOOD
- 1 cup of melted butter because you should start the new year right, meaning bloated and happy
- 1 cup of honey
- ½ cup of brown sugar, packed, meaning you gotta pat the sugar down like you’re tamping down the fresh earth
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup of coffee
preheat oven to 350 degrees, then mix all the dry ingredients together. once you’re done whisking there, make a little well in the center of it all and pour all the honey and sugar and other wet stuff in there, a beautiful metaphor for how sweetness will fill your new year, tbqh. then break out the egg beater and thoroughly stir it all together because oy, the thickness. then pour it all in a greased pan of your choosing and set it to bake for an hour while you presumably make a list of your past sins.
